Discover if your ancestors were baptised in London’s Docklands between 1608 and 1933.
Each record is a transcript.
The amount of information listed varies, but the Dockland Ancestors records usually include a combination of the following information about your ancestor:
Date of birth
Place of baptism
Date of baptism
Occupation of father
There are over half a million entries on the Dockland Ancestors register.
These records incorporate much of London’s East End (Stepney, Whitechapel, Poplar, Wapping, Shadwell, Spitalfields, Ratcliff, Limehouse, the Isle of Dogs), through to Rotherhithe, Newington and Bermondsey, on the south of the river. Parts of Essex are also covered.
Of particular use are the entries dated prior to 1837 (when registration of births became compulsory)
